What we do

There are 11 meetings a year  and in August with no formal meeting we normally have a lunch or tea together. Between meetings we go out on walks, to the theatre, on outings to many places and make lots of craft and cookery. We also join with other local WI groups for entertaining and interesting meetings in our local Emlyn Downs Group of nearby WIs and support the Surrey Federation which contains all WIs in Surrey plus a few in London.
Surrey Federation also put on a number of events for members to join in and exhibit their craft at local country shows.  We support the WI College, Denman College in Oxfordshire where we have all enjoyed going, and we try to have a draw annually for a bursary so all members can have the chance to go.

One of our real successes in the past couple of years has been the occasional film afternoon at our President's home, where those who can do so go along to watch a recommended film. The other has been the meetings we now go to on a regular basis in Pinnock's at Ripley. You will find us there on the second Wednesday of each month from 10.30am to 12 noon having a superb coffee and cake, chatting over anything and everything that we can't  find time for at meetings.

Now added to that list is the occasional meal out with friends and partners at a local pub.

Here is a small glimpse of the type of activities we enjoy, starting in 2012  which was a special year for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics. Here are a number of photos to illustrate what we did during the year.
